Ever have a friend who was fairly tall, around 5 foot 10 inches at the age of 12, and think to yourself, "Wow. I wonder how tall his older brother is?" After some time passes, you finally meet your friend's older brother and he is a behemoth, a giant among men, towering over you, your friends and seemingly the trees. Well, Wonka Giant Pixy Stix is the older brother of Wonka Pixy Stix. Pixy Stix is a powdered sugar candy packaged in a drinking straw plastic form. Now with four sweet flavors: Grape, Maui Punch, Cherry and Orange!
First made by Sunline in the 1950s, Pixy Stix was initially intended to be a sugar substance that one could pour into their drinks (marketed as Fruitola) however, after seeing many children eat the sugar straight from the packaging, Sunline changed their stance on their intentions. They marketed it as a confectionery candy, at one point, adding a spoon to enjoy the sugar with and even a lollipop to dip into the sugary treat. From those initial plans, they created three different candy brands: Pixy Stix, Lik-M-Aid (lollipop and dipping sugar) and SweeTarts (condensed form of sugar powder). Nestle eventually bought Sunline and began producing the Pixy Stix and its fellow confectionery treats under the Wonka Candy Company branch of Nestle. Enjoy this sugary confectionery treat today!
